| Sprague, Grover C., Sr. (1892-1960) Grave stone at Saint Joseph's Cemetery, Union Corners Road, Orange Co., NY Per William G. Sprague: I walked this cemetery (St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Union Corners Road, Florida, NY) four times and was not able to locate the marker for Grover C. Sprague Sr., which I knew was in there since it identified this cemetery for interment in his obituary. I realized that he had to be in his wife’s plot since everybody in this cemetery is Polish and in fact many of the older stones are written in Polish. It was only then that I went back to the top of the hill and oldest part of the cemetery and found the large Wozniak Family Stone. This represents his wife’s family plot and both she (Roselia) and several of her relatives (most written in polish and even the phrase “Perpetual Care” was written in Polish) were also in this plot. I figured a photo of the family stone would be an easy way for anybody looking for the smaller markers to find them. In front of the Wozniak Family Stone are the two smaller side by side markers of Grover C. Sprague and his wife Roselia Wozniak. To date, I have gone back and not been able to connect Roselia with her parents yet as the names are so mixed up, but I have some more research to do and perhaps I may be able to get the interment date on Roselia and see if there is a local obituary. I am sure that both Grover and Roselia died in Ramsey NJ, but since I did find his obituary, there is a chance hers will be printed locally also. August 2010 | Saint Joseph's Cemetery | Located |

| Sprague, Donald A. (1923-1975) Grave stone at Fatinekill Cemetery, Ellenville, Ulster Co., NY Per William G. Sprague: While passing through Ellenville, I stopped to see if I could locate the marker of Virginia Taylor, 2nd wife of Frank Howard Sprague and step-mother of Frank’s son Donald A. Sprague. While re-checking the Sprague plot for Virginia, (Whom I was not able to locate), I spotted a piece of metal in the dirt. After cleaning it off, I discovered a 2nd funeral home grave marker for Donald A. Sprague. His other marker was a stone military marker that I previously sent and is currently posted in Fantinekill Cemetery, Ellenville, Ulster County, NY. I am sure he would appreciate it. Besides, the name of the funeral home is Bury Funeral Home. They obviously had no other choice for an occupation. I remember that I did check the local papers for his obituary for the entire month of Aug. 1975 with no luck. Perhaps I will look again. I also had no luck finding the Bury Funeral Home in the Ellenville area. August 2010 | Fantinekill Cemetery | Located |

| Finn, Catherine (1866-1937) Grave stone at Saint Stephen's Cemetery, Warwick, Orange Co., NY Per William G. Sprgue, "The photo of the grave marker for KATHERINE SPRAGUE (nee FINN) results in a question. She is currently listed under spelling of Catherine. Funny thing is that I have found her name spelled both ways in census reports and also spelled Catherine in her son John’s obituary. One has to wonder which is the correct spelling." 22 Juky 2010 | Saint Stephen's Cemetery | Located |

| Sprague, John Stanley (1916-1954) There are two grave markers for John Stanley Sprague. One is a standard funeral home metal marker with the name Pulling Service on it, but there is no such funeral home in Ellenville, Ulster Co., NY and in fact I can find no record of this funeral service any place. I thought it would lead me to where he died, but no such luck. I searched the local archives for an obituary on him with no luck so my guess is that he died in another area and the remaining family failed to put an obit in the Middletown newspaper. We know he was living in Albany in 1946 with his wife. Perhaps one will turn up some day, but nothing now. No luck with any social security records either. Cemetery records reflect he was buried on May 21, 1954. He is in Section 10, Lot 8 at Fantinekill Cemetery which is the Raymond family plot of his wife, Sarah Denman Raymond. I will send a separate photo of her marker as she is not listed yet. Although the Raymond family are Ellenville people, I have had little luck on finding information about them so far. Will have to dig further. I recall her father being Charles Denman Raymond who is not buried in the plot, but his wife and Sarah's mother (Frances M. Wentworth) is buried in this plot. Denman was a prominent family in the Neversink Grahamsville NY area so they must be connected to them somehow. On John's military stone, there was some cement or something I could not clean up on his rank, but I believe it was LCDR, which I would guess stands for Lt. Commander. We know he was a Lt. but I am not a Navy guy and have guessed the rest. I would love to see somebody from this family pop up and fill in some blanks since I have come to admire this family and the role they played in the Village of Ellenville. There is a Sprague Court in the Village, but haven't found any relatives yet. For what I assumed was a fairly wealthy and prominent family, I would have thought that their markers would have been larger. William G. Sprague 12 July 2010 | Fantinekill Cemetery | Located |

| Sprague, William Smith (1922-2007) Memorial stone at Wallkill Cemetery, aka Phillipsburg Cemetery in the Town of Wallkill, Orange County, NY Per William G. Sprague, I always wondered what happened to William Smith Sprague, I257961, who had his birth date of Feb. 17, 1922 listed on the stone, but no date of death listed. His brother Richard Sprague was the victim of a hit and run fatal car accident at the age of 10. Both parents are there so I figured that he must have moved away. I did some searching on the SSDI and found he had died on August 24, 2007 in Denver Colorado and then checked Legacy.com and found his obituary in the Denver Post published Sept. 2, 2007. He died a year after I worked on the family. Below is the information that I uncovered. I have a photo of his name and birth date taken from the stone in Wallkill Cemetery, but it is interesting to note that in fact he is buried in the Fort Logan National Cemetery and not in the Wallkill Cemetery. I suspect that his parents bought the plot and had is name cut into the stone when his brother was killed. Fort Logan National Cemetery is located in the City of Denver, Denver County, Colorado. It is posted on Interment.net and I checked the listings and found that although there are several Sprague’s there, William Smith Sprague is not among them. It appears that no deaths since the year 2000 have been posted yet. I guess that like the government, they are years behind on everything. June 2010 | Wallkill (Phillipsburg) Cemetery | Located |
