Notes: On the eastern edge of the Village of Bloomingburg (yellow on the attached map) runs the Shawangunk Kill creek (orange squiggly shaped line on attached the map. This creek is the boarder between Sullivan County and Orange County. The map shows The Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery which is the black headstone marked CEM located at the south east intersection of State Route 17-K and Bloomingburg Road (AKA Co. Route 76). All of the grave markers currently listed as being in the Bloomingburg Cemetery are actually in the Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery. (There is no Bloomingburg Cemetery and no cemeteries in the Village of Bloomingburg.)
The real name of the cemetery is The Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery and it is located on the southeast corner of the intersection of Route 17-K and Bloomingburg Road (Co. Route 76). Because the cemetery sits on the east side of the Shawangunk Kill creek, the Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery is located in the Town of Crawford, Orange County, New York, USA even though the mailing address would be the Bloomingburg post office.
