When Iwas reading it more closely I realized some death dateswere given in the 1890s. Going back online it would appearthe book was republished in 1906 and apparently (altho Ifound nothing re this) updated. The Past and Present of Eaton County, Michigan Wolcott B. Williams Lansing, Michigan: The Michigan Historical PublishingAssoc. 1880 republished 1906 page 158-160 [biography of Henry S. Arnold, husband of daughter Eunice] .... In 1858 Mr. Arnold consummated a second marriage,being then united to Miss Eunice C. Sprague, daughter ofPhiletus and Teresa (Whitmore) Sprague, who were numberedamong the honored pioneers of Vermontville, this county.Mr. Sprague was born in Saratoga, New York, and his wife inthe state of Vermont. Philetus Sprague was a son ofJonathan Sprague, and the latter's father was a patriotsoldier in the Continental line in the war of theRevolution..... ....Philetus Sprague was born in 1802 and died in 1888, athis home in Vermontville, and his wife died in Charlotte in1891. They became the parents of nine children, of whomfive are living, namely: Miss Pandora A., of Vermontville;Mrs. Lydia M. Scott, a resident of Minnesota; Mrs. Emma E.Lapham, residing in the state of California; Eunice C., thewife of the subject of this review; and Mrs. HannahHawkins, of Vermontville. [7]
