BERT SPRAGUE      Bert Sprague, 54 years old, of 16 Crandall Street, died Saturday night at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, after a short illness. He is survived by his wife, Anna; a son, Arthur Sprague of Ithaca; a daughter, Mrs. Julian Sutliff of Binghamton; two brothers, Uriah Sprague of Shavertown and Sidney (Seymour) Sprague of Afton; four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. The body was removed to the Ernest H. Parson's funeral home, 86 Main Street. (Research): From William G. Sprague, correspondent, note of 29 March 2020 Bert Sprague is another child of Peter Sprague and Julia Knapp who was not previously identified. He has a strange background as I never found him residing with his parents when he should be, but did find a census with him in another family residing 4 doors down from his parent's farm. His brothers match up perfectly as siblings. Found the problem with Bert not being posted with his parents. Peter Sprague I378264 and wife Julia Ann Knapp I378265 have a son Bert Sprague I378257, but no other children posted. They are the same individuals as Peter Sprague I10329 and wife Julia Knapp I262100 who have all of Bert's siblings listed, but not Bert. Obviously, they have to be combined. The connection must have come from finding the grave markers and linking it to a 1910 census. I don't see how the connection was made to parents Peter and Julia Sprague, but glad somebody did. Bert and wife Anna are buried in Vestal Hills Memorial Park, but not listed in findagrave which is probably why I couldn't find them. Looked in Floral Park Cemetery Johnson City as stated in obit, but not there either. Wonder if Vestal Hills Memorial Park was called Floral Park at one time. Glad somebody did find them and we can now combine them. The one thing I can't figure out is why Burt never lived with his parents. Burt and wife Anna are in fact buried together in Vestal Hills Memorial Park as indicated on his page with photos of markers from another source. [2]
