Sprague, correspondent, note of April 22, 2011 He first appears in the electoral rolls of 1880 – 1881.He is a mariner, residing Devonport in the district ofWanganui, Manawatu-Wanganui. It appears to me that rollsin those days only recorded the males 21 years of age andolder. In the 1890 roll he was a mariner, residing Cook St.,Auckland In 1896 women are showing up in the rolls. He is still atCook St. and there is an Elizabeth shown at Centre St.,home duties (which would indicate she is married) but thereis no other Spragg on Centre Street. In the 1900 roll, James (mariner) and Elizabeth (homeduties) are on Baker Street, Auckland. They were there in the 1905-1906 roll. In the 1911 roll he is a wharf labourer and their addressis 18 Baker St. Auckland. Arthur Henry is with them.
