It came from a scrap book ofnewspaper articles on file with the Chenango CountyHistorian's Office. The paper was dated 1901. Along withthe photo was the following newspaper article regarding thewedding. I had found their marriage date of June 2, 1901 inother records, but it appears by this article that sinceJune 14, 1901 was a Thursday, that the wedding day on theprevious Sunday would have been June 10th, 1901.
HARRIS - PLATT Auspicious Nuptial Event in Norwich Last Sunday Norwich, June 14. (1901) - Dr.Blinn A. Harris and Mrs. Winona A. Platt were married atthe home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. George L.Sprague, on Mitchell Street, at 9 o'clock Sundayevening. Rev. J. Lafayette Ray, pastor of the FirstBaptist Church, officiated. Only the immediaterelatives of the contracting parties being present. After congratulations, refreshments were served, and Mr.and Mrs. Harris left by the Ontario & Western for a weddingtrip to Milwaukee and other points. The groom is aprominent physician and a coroner of Chenango County. His bride is a charming woman. Their many friendsthroughout the county unite in extending best wishes. [3]
