BOLAND (Sprague), Eunice L. -- Oakwood Terrace, passed awayNovember 2, 2002, at age 97. Eunice was the eldestdaughter of the late Charles W. Sprague and Margaret (Vail)Sprague and was predeceased by husband, Roy W. Boland; son,William S.; daughter, Margaret E. Kempton; sister, DorisParsons (Amherst); brother, Gilbert W. Sprague (Dartmouth). She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by daughter, Carol Ann Boland, NewGlasgow; daughter-in-law Joanna Boland, who was her friendand devoted caregiver; 11 grandchildren and 16great-grandchildren. She will always be remembered as the"lady with the smile" by staff and friends as OakwoodTerrace where she spent the last five wonderful years ofher life. A graduate of Halifax Ladies' College, Eunicewas a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International. Duringher life she was a member of Christ Church, Dartmouth, ACW,Robin Hood Chapter of IODE, Iota Chapter Beta Sigma Phi,honorary chairperson Dartmouth Boys' and girls' Club,Brightwood Golf and Country Club, Dartmouth Curling Cluband was honoured by the Dartmouth Heritage Museum as on ofDartmouth's Memorable Women. Cremation has taken place. Amemorial service will be held in A. L. Mattatall FuneralHome, Wednesday at 2 p.m. with burial in Christ ChurchCemetery. No visiting or flowers by request. Donationsmay be made to Dartmouth Boys' and Girls' Club, VictorianOrder of Nurses or charity of choice. [5]

WEDDINGS
BOLAND-SPRAGUE
The home of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Sprague, Quinpool Road wasthe scene of a unusually pretty home wedding this morningwhen their daughter Miss Eunice L. Sprague became the brideof Roy W. Boland of the firm of S. D. Boland, and Company,Dartmouth. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Dr.Arthur Huddletston of the First Baptist Church and waswitnessed by the immediate relatives and a few intimatefriends of the happy couple.
The sun parlor where the wedding took place had beendecorated with white asters and clusters of sweet peas.The wedding party stood beneath an arch of sweet peas fromwhich a beautiful silver and sweet peas wedding bell washung. The the piano Mrs. Lajeunesee, of Dartmouth,presided and rendered the wedding march. Miss Spragueentered the room on the arm of her father by whom she wasgiven in marriage. She was a charming and dainty bride inher lovely wedding gown of white crepe de chene trimmedwith moire ribbou. The gown was a French model and wasworn with a fine tulle veil caught with orange blossoms andpearls. Her flowers were pale pink roses and sweet peas.There was only one attendant little Miss Ruth MacDonald,niece of the groom, who was the daintiest of flower girlsin a lemon colored frock with bonnett to match; she carrieda shower basket of sweet peas.
Among the guests were Mrs. D. P. MacDonald, of Sydney, andher daughter Miss Gertrude Vail, of Boston.
After a wedding breakfast Mr. and Mrs. Boland left on ahoneymoon trip through the Province traveling by motor.They will be absent about three weeks and on their returnwill take up their residence in Dartmouth. The bridetraveled in Russian Brown crepe ensemble with hat to match.
A number of formal and informal affairs have been given inhonor of the bride since the announcement of the engagementand an usually large and beautiful collection of giftsmarked the popularity in which the happy couple are heldboth in the City and Town. Mr. Boland is one of theyounger businessmen of Dartmouth and he like his bride,enjoys a wide popularity. [7]
