Due to the fact that there are several Abel Spragues in thearea and I there is no obvious indication as to which oneis the father of Hiram Sprague, I am not going to include acensus from this year. It is just to uncertain. In fact theonly Sprague heads of households in the Town of Andes in1840 were Alexander, James O., John, and Peter H. Sprague.Although there were other Abel Spragues in nearbytownships, there is nothing in these census report todirectly connect Hiram Sprague to any of them. We will haveto leave it up to WV Sprague and "Beaverkill Valley" fornow.
