The name of the daughter of Ferris J. Sprague and wife ofRev. George S. Vinson was incorrectly entered in "SpragueFamilies in America" (see above). Her name was EuniceEstella Sprague. She disliked the name Eunice and used E.Estella, which is how her marriage certificate and obituaryread.

MRS. GEORGE VINSON DIES EARLY SUNDAY FUNERAL HELD ONWEDNESDAY Native of Ludingtonville and Wife of ShenandoahBaptist Pastor Stricken Suddenly. Becoming ill Saturdaynight with what she believed to be indigestion, Mrs. E.Estella Vinson, 64, wife of the Rev. George S. Vinson whois pastor of the Bethel Baptist Church, Shenandoah, diedunexpectedly at her home in Shenandoah, Sunday morning, May23, 1943. Mrs. Vinson had been in apparent good healthuntil she became ill Saturday night. Dr. Louis Muzzieatowas summoned and attended the woman but she failed torespond to medical treatment. Mrs. Vinson, who was born inLudingtonville, July 18, 1878, had resided in PutnamCounty, the greater part of her life. She had made her homein Shenandoah the last seven years, during which time herhusband has held the pastorate of the Bethel BaptistChurch. Her early education was received in the PutnamCounty schools. The daughter of the late Ferris J. and MaryE. Townsend Sprague, Mrs. Vinson was married to Mr. Vinson,45 years ago. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are ason, Richard F. Vinson, Newburgh; two daughters, Mrs. MaryA. Sprague, Patterson, and Mrs. Edna V. Baldwin,Stormville; two grandsons; a sister, Mrs. Ida Ferguson,Brewster; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral serviceswere conducted at the Bethel Baptist Church at 2 o'clockWednesday afternoon. The Rev. Merritt Miller, retiredminister who is a member of the Shenandoah Church,officiated. He was assisted by the Rev. Eric D. Clark,minister of the Pawling Baptist Church and the Rev. DavidMartin, Towners. Mrs. Edward Roosa and Mrs. David Martinsang a duet and Mrs. Knapp a vocal solo at the services.Burial was made in the Maple avenue cemetery, Patterson.Bearers were Wright Jackson, D.R. Knapp, Smith Townsend,Roy Stevens, George Burton and Millard Knapp. CARMEL,PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y., FRIDAY, MAY 28, 1943. [1]
