- Attached is a newspaper photo of Winona A. Sprague(I249301)and her 2nd husband Dr. Blinn A. Harris. It is notof great quality, but you can decide if you want to postit. It came from a scrap book of newspaper articles onfile with the Chenango County Historian's Office. The paperwas dated 1901. Along with the photo was the followingnewspaper article regarding the wedding. I had found theirmarriage date of June 2, 1901 in other records, but itappears by this article that since June 14, 1901 was aThursday, that the wedding day on the previous Sunday wouldhave been June 10th, 1901.
HARRIS - PLATT Auspicious Nuptial Event in NorwichLast Sunday Norwich, June 14. (1901) - Dr. Blinn A. Harris andMrs. Winona A. Platt were married at the home of thebride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. George L. Sprague, onMitchell Street, at 9 o'clock Sunday evening. Rev. J.Lafayette Ray, pastor of the First Baptist Church,officiated. Only the immediate relatives of thecontracting parties being present. After congratulations,refreshments were served, and Mr. and Mrs. Harris left bythe Ontario & Western for a wedding trip to Milwaukee andother points. The groom is a prominent physician and acoroner of Chenango County. His bride is a charming woman. Their many friends throughout the county unite inextending best wishes. [2]
